At the end of 2024, our family took on a big challenge: we fully renovated the house. It wasn’t just a quick makeover—it was a full-on, hands-on project. We carved out time from our jobs, dipped into our savings, and poured our energy into every detail. This home isn’t just a rental—it’s a family dream built with love, late nights, and a vision for a more sustainable future.

🌍 Sustainability

We’re proud to say that the house is now energy-efficient, running on solar power and designed to minimise its environmental impact. But we’re not stopping there. Our next big goal is to reduce our reliance on external water sources. The project is collecting rainwater, with the goal of storing and purifying it so it can be used throughout the property. It’s a project we’re really excited about, and we’re looking into the best systems to make it happen in a sustainable way.

One of the most exciting additions is our solar-powered automatic irrigation system—the only one of its kind on the island! It helps keep the garden thriving and reduces the dust that comes with the Saharan mist, which can be quite common here.

We also looked into the idea of installing wind turbines to generate electricity, especially considering the consistent breeze across the Canarian archipelago. It’s a promising option from a sustainability point of view, but for now, we’ve decided to hold off. The potential noise from turbines could disturb the peaceful atmosphere we want our guests to enjoy, so it’s not the right fit just yet.

🏊‍♂️ Relaxation Projects

We know that after a long day of surfing, there’s nothing better than a proper wind-down. That’s why one of our main goals is to fully renovate the swimming pool. We want it to be a peaceful, refreshing space where guests can float, soak, and recharge.

We’ve also requested a quote for a sauna that will be fully powered by the home’s solar panels. It’s an idea we’re exploring, and while nothing’s confirmed yet, we’re genuinely excited about the possibility. Just imagine unwinding in a warm, eco-friendly sauna after a day at the beach—sounds like the perfect way to end the day!

🌅 A View to Remember

Another idea we’ve shared with our architect is to create a rooftop viewing deck. The house already has lovely views, but we want to take it up a notch. The plan is to redesign part of the roof so guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the beach—perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks.

We’re so grateful for the guests who’ve stayed with us and supported this journey. Every visit helps us grow and improve, and we’re excited to keep building a space that’s not only relaxing but also respectful of the environment.

Thanks for being part of it—and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.
